The German cartographer Sebastian Münster (1488-1552) published his main work that secured his fame, "Cosmographia", in 1544, edited in several editions. The copy is part of the version printed in Basel by the publisher and printer Sebastian Henricpetri (1546-1627) in 1588. Copper engraving. On the verso, there are two stamped ex-libris of the collector Gheorghe Răut, which demonstrates the inclusion of this piece in the famous collection.
