Lot consisting of two letters drafted by the general secretary of the Romanian Academy Ioan Bianu to the president of the Romanian Academy Petru Poni, 1916 and 1919
Описание
Both letters are handwritten, signed, dated, and bear the header of the Romanian Academy. The 1916 document refers to the donation of 13,000 lei by the Academy to the Association of Soldiers' Families, a civic organization founded by ladies of the upper class to support the families of soldiers fighting on the front in the First World War. The 1919 document refers to the Academy granting five scholarships from the Adamachi fund for young Romanians enrolled at universities in Paris and Birmingham.
