130. "Icon on wood, with silver riza, "Mother of God with the Child - The Everlasting Rose", Greek school, with the coat of arms of Wallachia, probably from the family of a ruler of Wallachia, end of the 17th century, rarity, collection piece"

The golden background of the icon depicts the Mother of God below the waist, supporting with her left hand the Infant Jesus Christ depicted standing. Above, at the corners, two small angels in flight, in adoration of the Mother of God, holding phylacteries in their hands with text in Greek. The composition refers to the iconographic type "Mother of God Queen of Heaven and Lady of Angels". Thus, the Mother of God wears rich garments of gold and numerous pearls and crown on her head. In her hand, in place of the royal scepter, she holds the "unfading rose". The Infant Jesus wears a gold garment, similar to that of Byzantine emperors, embroidered with precious stones and pearls, and a golden crown on his head. With his right hand he holds the crucifer globe of power and with his left the royal scepter. The faces of the characters are painted tonally, the shadows and features of the faces being made with brown-green, and the highlights are placed with white. The icon's painting style fits into the Greek painting school of the late seventeenth century. Later, in the 18th and 19th centuries, a silver frame decorated with vegetal motifs, nimbuses and silver crowns, as well as an arc-shaped screen, with a medallion in the center with the coat of arms of Wallachia, were added to the icon.
