47. Butterflies

The artistic horizon around thematic permanencies, such as the myth of the primordial couple, motherhood or fatherhood, which successively dominates his creative consciousness, imagined by George Apostu will find the foundations of stylistic innovation in popular creation, a path free from clichés or academic conventions. Using few artistic means, which dare to touch the stylistic shortage, the sculptor cultivates all the expressive virtues of the shapes. The endless play of motives, their judicious repetition, the perfect organization of volumes and plastic rhythms will be perfect settings for long meditation. Among his most extensive topics are: "Father and Son", "Lapland", "Christ", "Passages" or "Butterflies". (G.M.)
