The artwork is part of the series completed by Arnold during his visit to England in the summer of 1937, artworks which were presented at a later date in the personal exhibition which he organised in Paris during the same year. Most landscapes capture images from London - the bridges over the river Thames, parks or other recognisable images from the capital of the United Kingdom, and were to be presented in front of the Bucharest audience as part of the retrospective exhibition at the Dalles Hall in 1940.
