11. Nostalgia [2023]

"When I was a child, I used to sit on the riverbank, letting my legs dangle in the water, saying they were the roots of a willow, and I would stretch out my arms in the grass. I would remain motionless, like a plant connected to water, earth, and the sun's rays, waiting for my body to transform into a willow tree. I would fall asleep. In my dream, my body would transform into a willow, birds would perch on my shoulders, snails would climb from the grass onto my hands as if they were the trunk of a willow. I would wake up happy, with the feeling that I have lived something secretive, that I have discovered something from the path I have taken, from the plant stage to the human stage. I have always kept this treasure in my soul, and now, at 70 years old, I have externalized it in the form of this composition, driven by a great Nostalgia for the period lived then". (Aurel Vlad)
