During his stay in Paris, when he was still a student at the Julian Academy of Art, he develops a close friendship with painter Ștefan Luchian. Upon their return to Romania, the two artists would establish several Romanian artistic societies, amongst which we mention "Salonul Independenților" ("The Salon of the Independents") or "Ileana", both of them serving the affirmation of independent Romanian artists. For the establishment of the "Ileana" society, they benefit from the support of Alexandru Bogdan-Pitești, who would put his own home at the artists' disposal. Systematic by nature, Artachino skilfully combines all the activities that complete his artistic evolution. Harmony also defines his artistic creation, and it also extends to the decoration style of his working space. In the salon where he creates, Western influences encounter Oriental ones in a refined selection of ornamental objects. His entire existence can be deciphered under the sign of rigour. He dedicated true botanical portraits to the flowers he painted, drawing the observer's look towards the central element, by using a contrasting chromatic, where the background is gradually lost.
