Venice gave Dărăscu a new vision of objects and of the manner of perceiving things in light. From drawing, the painter moves to colour, a journey brokered by the divisionist technique of Pointillism, which, although obsolete, has proven essential in his move towards a biased Impressionism that Dărăscu arranges, how else, before landscapes. The first trip that Dărăscu made in the north of Italy, in Venice and Chioggia, took place around 1910, and the first truly coherent cycle that captured the Italian lagoon took shape between 1914 and 1915, when Dărăscu started to move beyond his Pointillist period by perfecting his colour palette.
