The painting "Feast Day" contains elements from all the main genres in which the great Bulgarian artist Dechko Uzunov worked, therefore, we could say that it is a compilation of his late work. In the central part of the canvas there are two images of Bulgarian women in folk costumes. Brides are one of the most painted female characters by Dechko Uzunov. They are depicted in the artist's characteristic style - bright, ethereal, radiating spiritual purity and dignity. They are a symbol of the Bulgarian woman - gentle, virtuous and strong. The images have a monumental impact, despite the light and transparent painting. This is precisely Dechko Uzunov's mastery - to create impressive images through sparing and poetic means. In the right part of the canvas it is depicted the alafranga, which is a characteristic element of the interior of the revival house. On the left, a conventional architectural element is hinted at. These details, as well as folk costumes, reinforce the feeling of national pride and respect for traditions. Dechko Uzunov conveys the ease with which he works in watercolor and oil painting. The composition "Feast Day" is emblematic of Dechko Uzunov's late artwork in terms of theme, color and craftsmanship. (S.N.)
