The plaque was struck on the occasion of the Jubilee Exhibition in 1906 in Bucharest, which was supposed to celebrate Romania's achievements during the 40-year reign of King Carol I. On the obverse dominate the portraits of Emperor Trajan and King Carol I. On the reverse is depicted in the central plan the Romanian nation in the form of a female figure which is flanked by Apollodorus of Damascus' bridge and the bridge at Cernavodă made by Anghel Saligny, inaugurated in 1895. At the base of the piece is an eagle with spread wings, a symbol of the power and courage of the Romanian nation. The plaque was made by the Romanian Numismatic Society as a sign of respect for the king. The piece is in a good state of preservation.
