Painter, director of animated films and writer, Sabin Bălașa graduates from the Nicolae Grigorescu Art Institute in Bucharest and goes on to study the Italian language, culture and art in Siena and Perugia, in Italy. He identifies himself as a representative of cosmic romanticism, but he also admires the surrealists, drawing inspiration from their works in his search for the fantasy of his own compositions. The cosmic and fantasy are also found in "The Dawn Fairy". Spirituality, mystery, fervour – they are juxtaposed onto a canvas dedicated to emotion, where human figures gradually disappear, even to the point of utter dissipation. Bălașa paints poetry, metaphors, metaphysics. His universe intertwines with the celestial universe and humbly brings it down to earth – embodied by his canvas.
