Prince Mihail Apafi ruled Transylvania between 1661 and 1690, and was the last prince to preserve the autonomy of the principality threatened by Austria and the Ottoman Empire. The work is created by the German engraver and publisher Johannes Meysens (1612-1670) in Vienna in 1666. Engraving on copper.
