Obie Platon shows us a post-apocalyptic future, the viewer immediately recognizing the reference, and steadily accepting the explicit reference to the already classic painting by Nicolae Grigorescu. But he will do it with some perplexity, the cart is no longer a cart, but has become "a car" (in English), a Lamborghini! But a dysfunctional one. Even the title of the work, ParadOx, is a play on words consisting of "parade" and "Ox" and we understand that the title "Ox cart" has become "Oxen Parade". No human figure appears in the painting. The carman disappeared, only the straw remained, in a Lamborghini turned into scrap metal, put on the driver's seat. The world described by Obie Plato is a world of simulacrum, of post-humanity. The heavy smoke coming out of the furnaces and the dynamics of the robot cattle show us that, however, things are still working. But they are working as a matter of course, under the imminence of wear and tear and decommissioning, it is a scheduled operation and with an expiration date at an uncertain date.
