Artmark launches its first Postwar and Contemporary Art Sale with a curated selection of more than 150 works, offering a vibrant journey through the artistic developments of the second half of the 20th century and the creative voices defining today’s scene. The sale highlights rare market appearances by seminal Postwar figures, including Ivan Vukadinov, a central name in Bulgarian art history whose presence represents a remarkable collecting opportunity, as well as notable works by Georges Papazoff, Genko Genkov, or Dimitar Kazakov - Neron. Their contributions reveal the evolution of modernism in the region and its links to broader European movements. Extending into the 1990s, the auction presents key artists who shaped the foundations of contemporary art practice, among them Svilen Stefanov, Stanislav Pamukchiev, Svetozar Benchev, Nedko Solakov, or Slav Nedev, whose distinctive approaches continue to influence the cultural landscape. The session also places a strong spotlight on a new generation of promising talents, with works by Nora Ampova, Iskra Blagoeva, or Lyuben Domozetski signaling the dynamic future of Bulgarian art and its emerging international presence. Bringing together distinguished masters and rising voices, this inaugural Postwar and Contemporary Art Sale reflects the diversity, depth, and vitality of artistic creation across decades. It invites collectors to engage with works of strong historical relevance and exciting contemporary resonance.
