"Transylvania". Auction of historical art and Transylvanian collectible objects #652/2026

"Terra ultra silvam" or "The Land Beyond the Forest" has been throughout the centuries a unique space of cultural confluence, where civilizations, confessions, and craftsmanship traditions have intertwined, generating a remarkably rich and diverse heritage. The present auction proposes a systematic journey through this material and spiritual legacy, bringing together over two hundred fifty lots covering a temporal arc of almost two millennia, from coins, rare books ("The Cazanii la oameni morţi" edited by Ioan Zoba from Vinț, printed by Chiriac Moldoveanul, first edition, Alba Iulia, 1689, absolute rarity), glass icons from the workshops of Șcheii Brașovului, Nicula, and Gherla, Saxon painted furniture, maps depicting the Transylvanian space from the 16th-19th centuries, as well as an important series of photographic documents and contemporary ephemera.
