Hand woven rug made of wool processed at home. The item comprises two strips of cloth ending in the middle of the rug, attesting its age and execution in a peasant's home. The composition has two frames, of different widths and central fields. The vegetal motifs - a mallow flower, lily-of-the-valley blossoms - highlight a geometric stylisation. The colours are well-harmonised, on a red and crimson background; the motifs are white, ultramarine and yellow. Currently, the technique of Romanian wall-carpet craftsmanship is part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
