Although numerous representations of Saint Nicholas enthroned remained from the work of Matei Țâmforea, the artist never ceases to surprise with the freshness of fantasy, with which he was endowed in abundance, hence the fascinating world of decorative elements with which he personalized each work. This is noted for the richness of the carved elements of the throne, reminiscent of the brâncovenești thrones, but also by the discreet frame and the way characters benefitting from his wonders are associated: the three maiden and their father, portrayed in miniature at the bottom of the throne.
