129. "Map of the Danubian Regions - Dacia, Moesia, Pannonia", by Christoph Weigel, Nürnberg, 1720

The map is part of a much larger work, "Descriptio Orbis Antiqui", an atlas published around 1720 in Nuremberg by the bookseller and editor Christopf Weigel. The series dedicated to the Danube regions included several maps, among which is the current one, a copy preserved in good condition. Passionate about art and travel, Weigel was also an important cultural popularizer and the success of his editions brought him European recognition.
