On the gold background at the top and green at the bottom of the icon, one can see Holy Apostles Peter and Paul rendered standing. To the right of the composition, Saint Peter, slightly turned to his left, is clothed with a blue tunic and an umber-yellow himation. On the other side, Saint Paul is wearing a green tunic and raspberry-red himation. Their faces follow the particular features established by Erminie. Saint Peter is portrayed as an old character, with white hair and beard and Saint Paul, a man who has reached peak maturity, with chestnut hair and beard. The faces are rendered starting from greenish brown shades to the indicated highlighted parts with shades of umber. Around the heads they wear decorated halos. Saint Peter is holding the keys in one hand and Saint Paul is holding the Gospel close to his chest. Between them, they are both holding with one hand the model of a church where Jesus Emmanuel, who blesses, is rendered - symbolizing the Apostolic Church. The wide frame of the icon is elevated above the field of the icon. The names are written in red, with Greek characters: "Ho Aghios Pertos, Ho Aghios Paulos". The icon was covered at the beginning of the 19th century with an encasing that has now been removed.
