In the article whose manuscript and typescript are present here, George Macovescu talks about his visit to Tg. Jiu which he undertook with his lifelong friend Gheorghe Dinu, the avant-garde poet Ștefan Roll. The visit was immortalised by the two original photographs. One of them shows the endless state of decay of the Endless Column, as it was during the communist regime in Romania.
