The Hermès Herbag is often recognized for the similar design it shares with the Hermès Kelly bag. Esthetically, these two bags look quite similar. The Herbag has, just like the Kelly, a trapezoid shape, which means that the bottom is slightly wider than the top. It has a top handle and an additional strap. It also comes with a clochette and padlock, and has a closing system that is comparable to that of the Kelly model. The main difference between the two bags is the material. A Kelly is made completely out of leather, whereas the Herbag has a leather top and a body made from canvas. The top of the Herbag (the upper section and the handle etc.) is made from Vache Hunter leather, a thick and durable type of leather. The base of the bag is made completely out of hard wearable canvas and can actually be detached and replaced by a different base. The leather top can be attached to any other body using the palladium Hermès hardware, which can be detached. This way, you can use the same top part, which may be detached and interchanged.
