Most likely, the work participated in the Samuel Mützner retrospective exhibition at the Romanian Athenaeum, in 1912, when he presented works from his past years in France and Northern Africa. "...taking his red-haired model, he went South to Beaucaire and settled in one of the poetic farms found there, surrounded by gardens with arching vines on masonry poles, where a patriarchal sort of life runs slowly. In the midst of such natural beauty, he placed his model and guests, either in the shadow of the arches, or in the sunlight, and he painted without any concern, other than colour and its poetry."
