Georgeta Năpăruș's work is rooted in a genuine folkloric universe, with the folk costume in which loans from the fantasy, fairy tale, daydreaming or from expressionism are harmoniously intertwined. Her exhibition debut took place in 1959, in Bucharest, but the artist will also participate in the exhibitions of Romanian art organized in Budapest, Zagreb or Moscow. As an artist's style of creation, it is personal and Romanian, with allusions to a surrealistic dreamlike space and with a deep-seated narrative, reconciled with composition as a science. This festive style developed from childhood, because she grew up in the Comarnic area, where she had the opportunity to participate in numerous weddings and village parties that she transposed over time into her works, along with the inclination towards traditional costumes, festive or jewels. Her works are colorful and with cheerful expressions of her own universe. They include a multitude of fantastic themes or images with soft, unclear or grotesque characters alongside gestures and gracious or unnatural movements, where all these are complemented by the rich clothing and carefully built to details that wants to surprise and describe as good the character and the fight with their own life, where a few examples in this sense are: "Ie" (1983), "Innocent Dream (1984)", "Princess's Procession (1984)", "Pharaoh (1990)", "Triumphant Entry", "Wedding " or "Princess". As for the work at hand, the center of interest is given by the multitude of characters in the scene and their various expressions. The characters have an elaborate and specific costume with that of the circus acrobats, due to the colors and accessories they wear. The characters have various expressions, confused, and raised hands that seem to have no continuity or clear idea about what is going to happen in the scene. The idea that the artist wanted to convey in the work has to do with the etymology of the word "acrobat" that originates in the Italian language, more precisely from the term "saltimbanco". This is composed of the words "salta" (jumps) and "in banco" (on the bench), which translates as "the one who jumps on the bench", but also acrobat or traveling artist. Thus, most of the represented characters wear a green, brown and yellow costume with various head accessories, such as crowns, clown hats or gloves. According to the way of representation within the composition, they seem to be preparing for the beginning of a circus show, where each will perform and interpret a different character. As with other works of the artist ("Joan of Arc", "Red Child Costume", "Parade" or "Characters") and here in this one, several actions are represented that can be read in order even though they happen at the same time. This "at the same time" generates for her a dynamic that gives strength and enthusiasm to the work. The vivid, interrupted color of many figures contributes to the sense of dynamism, although seen from a distance it creates the impression of a tapestry. Also, the clothing of the characters expresses their psychology, determining the character of the human figure, going so far as the costume, substitutes the character itself, remaining a character (guest) without a face.
