The manuscript was copied between 1720-1730 by the teacher Barbu from the village of Jiana? and contains the main services from the Octoih printed in Bucharest in 1720 (pg. [1-338]), the service of Sundays, on voices, as well as several other texts: liturgies, Easter services, the typikon, "Prayers for those who repent", etc.. The final pages contain a table with the dates, according to the old rite "The Circle of the Sun, Moon, etc.". The manuscript has numbered pages, with Cyrillic characters, due to the copyist and namely 512 pages; due to excessive use in worship, the pages have suffered, the book being relegated to the beginning of the 19th century. As a result, the pagination shows the absence of approximately 40-50 pages from the volume, therefore the volume contains 478 pages. The manuscript text is made with black and red ink, with 25 rows per full page and the text mirror 16 x 11 cm. At the beginning of each chapter, the copyist clumsily created frontispieces with geometric elements and initials, in simple frames. The volume was first bound by the copyist, according to the note on page [390], "in the month of September in the year 7244 (1736)". The current binding dates from the first half of the 19th century, probably monastic, most likely coming from another book and is made with wooden boards, covered in brown leather, with decoration printed with cold iron and two locks made of leather and metal. The spine of the book has the leather cut on the first register using a white leather. The manuscript presents numerous notes due to the copyist, which give historical value to this volume, we only mention the note on page [316] "... with all the power of his Turkish army at the citadel of Ostrov ... in the days of Constantine Vodă, son of Nicolae voevod from the city of Bucharest in the year with the leat from H.S. 1738 and the one from Adam 7256 ... Barbu the teacher".
