Daring and timeless, the Van Cleef & Arpels Cadenas wristwatch is as contemporary today as when it was first created in 1935. Van Cleef & Arpels manufactured sumptuous watches out of jewellery since 1920 but the model that will define the combination of beauty and functionality, the Cadenas watch, was created in 1935. The closure, or „cadenas” in French, is a powerful symbol of the union and alliance of two families or people. Legend has it that the Duke or Duchess of Windsor originally suggested this concept for the watch. Since then, the watch was a permanent feature in Van Cleef & Arpels' wristwatch collections. The wristwatch is new, with the original protective foils attached.
