Arthur C. Danto brings an institutional perspective on defining the idea of art, considering that all the actors involved and all related institutions (from museums to galleries) equally contribute to the transformation of this open concept. Indeed, a significant segment in the continuous development of the national art scene is represented by private collections and the way each individual chooses to build an art collection, which bears not only the stylistic imprint of the artists but also the personal preferences of the collector, the sociocultural trends of the era, and the micro-climate in which the collector operates. Therefore, a collection reflects both a "taste," a subjective aesthetic thinking, and a standard, a "measure."
