Descriere

The Winter Auction is always a royalty of plastic jewels signed by past and present Grand Masters such as Nicolae Tonitza, Gheorghe Petrașcu, Nicolae Vermont, Ștefan Luchian, Theodor Pallady or Octav Băncilă and, reaching the contemporary, Horia Bernea, Felix Aftene, Ștefan Câlția, Sorin Ilfoveanu or Georges Mazilu. We are presented with established subjects, such as the theme of childhood, taken up in representative portraits by Nicolae Tonitza, the family universe, from Petrașcu's famous interiors, to well-known Romanian artists, remarkable even abroad, such as Dimitrie Berea or Francisc Gall. We take note, with admiration, of the important sequences from the collections of some of the most important cultural and artistic personalities: Nina Cassian and Rodica and Samuel Mützner. Best known for her role as a poet, Nina Cassian's life also intersected with theatre, music and education. Nina Cassian was, over the years, the muse of Ion Barbu, Marin Preda or Nichita Stănescu. For some of the poems, the artist Iosif Fekete will make a series of engravings. Nina Cassian enters the world of fine art and practices her talent in Max Hermann Maxy's studio with her good friend, artist Yvonne Hasan. Around Nina Cassian, Yvonne Hasan would move closer to the avant-garde and begin experimenting with collage and tapestry. The poet's entire existence is dominated by an unexpected expressiveness and an unquenchable love for art, which is revealed both by her creative inclinations and the friendships she forms with other artists. In the Rodica Maniu and Samuel Mützner collection, we will discover from personal objects, sketchbooks and notes of the artists, the desk clock that appears in several of Samuel Mützner's works, photographs, medals or other documents or testimonies from the universe of one of the most important Romanian families of artists.
