PROVENANCE

Josef Mueller Collection, Solothurn, before 1952 Barbier-Mueller Collection, Geneva, Inv. no 534-6 Sotheby's Auction, France, 22.03.2013, lot 313

Urn-vase with a globular basin, high cylindrical neck, flaring lip, flat bottom. The vessel is made of fine brown-orange ceramic, coated with white slip and decorated with anthropomorphic elements in relief (nose, mouth, eyes, etc.) and polychrome geometric motifs (brown and red).
